Washington DC Begins piloting Pay by Phone
April 2010 – Drivers in the District won’t have to worry if they have enough change to feed the meter. The District Department of Transportation is beginning a pilot program that will allow meters to be paid by cellphone. Drivers will be allowed to pay by mobile device in three areas: Dupont Circle, Union Station and downtown on K Street, I Street and New York Avenue NW.
 
     
Fort Lauderdale goes city wide with Pay by Phone Parking
April 2010 – City of Fort Lauderdale are pleased to announce the official launch of pay by phone parking city wide. Residents and guests of Fort Lauderdale can now take advantage of the most convenient way to pay for their daily parking. Just look for the green Pay by Phone signs and decals wherever you park. And don’t forget you can use the same account in 100 other cities and towns including the City of Miami and the University of Miami (Coral Gables).
 
     
Ann Arbor launches pay by phone in conjunction with their new ePark service
June 2009 – The new e-park system in Ann Arbor is designed to make parking downtown easier, more convenient, energy efficient and includes the option to Pay by Phone. Motorists visiting downtown Ann Arbor will be pleased to find they won’t have to search for coins anymore thanks to the Downtown Development Authority’s recent enhancements to the parking environment.
 
     
Sacramento launches pay by phone on transit lots
May 2009 – The recent launch of Pay by Phone parking adds to the list of improvements the City has made at the station lots.
"Implementation was easy and the Verrus team was a true partner throughout the process,” said Matthew W. Eierman, Parking Meter Manager at the City of Sacramento. “We are currently exploring the option to expand the Pay by Phone option into our other parking lots."
 
     
Texas Tech rolls out Verrus campus wide
May 2009 – University Parking Services wanted to reduce the reliance on the parking meters. Programs such as this show TTU’s commitment to the utilization of new technology on its campus.
"The Verrus pay by phone system has made paid parking extremely convenient for our customers,” said Brian Brand, Manager of Parking Enforcement at TTU. “Our students really like the text message reminders and the ability to add time from anywhere and avoid possible citations. In addition, this system has made things more convenient for us as well. We spend a lot less time maintaining pay machines and processing credit cards ourselves."
 
     
Coins are no longer necessary for parking in Wilmington, NC
April 2009 – Verrus’ Pay by Phone service rolls out on all on-street spaces. Residents and visitors never have to worry about having coins on hand anymore.
"This service has really taken off,"said Betty Gurganus Parking Manager, City of Wilmington. "Customers that have used pay by phone say 'it is so easy' 'no preplanning required' 'simply drive up to the meter and call'."
 
     
Verrus gives Anchorage, AK motorists a new payment option
March 2009 – The Anchorage Community Development Authority (ACDA) launches Verrus’ Pay by Phone service at eight municipal downtown parking lots.
"Pay by Phone is a natural fit for active Alaskans and tourists alike,” said Rick Onstott, ACDA's Parking Director. “Paying by phone in the comfort of a car and avoiding event lines at pay stations will surely be a hit in Anchorage."

November 2008 – Verrus is pleased to announce it has achieved full certification as a Level 1 Service provider under the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard – the industry's highest level of payment account data security certification that ensures the protection of cardholder data.
 
     
Boston area rail commuters can now park from the train
December 2008 – The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is now offering Pay by Phone on many of its rail commuter lots. Customers can pay from the comfort of their vehicle or they can hop on the train and park their cars on the go!
 
     
New Orleans becomes the next city to offer Verrus Pay by Phone on their streets
December 2008 – New Orleans joins the ever growing list of cities worldwide enabling drivers to park and Pay by Phone with Verrus.
 
     
Aspen now offers pay by phone parking on street citywide
December 2008 – No more trudging through the snow to update the parking meter in Aspen. Now parkers can use Verrus Pay by Phone to start or extend their parking from anywhere in the City of Aspen, including the ski lift.
 
     
Miami becomes the first major US city to offer citywide pay by phone parking
May 2008 – With the launch of Verrus, the City of Miami becomes the first major US city to offer on street pay by phone parking citywide. In conjunction with the on street launch, numerous off street parking facilities in Miami are also enabled with Verrus.
 
     
Verrus?Park & Pay by Phone service rolled out at First Capital Connect car parks
May 2008 – Following a successful trial at St Neots and Harpenden of Verrus?mobile phone payment service, rail operator First Capital Connect (FCC) together with parking partner NCP, is rolling out the Verrus phone payment service at all of its 40 station car parks from May 1st 2008.
 
     
Winchester launches Verrus service at city centre car parks
April 2008 – Winchester City Council is the next local authority to adopt the Verrus mobile phone payment service at its central pay and display car parks. Launched at the beginning of April, early indications show that the service is proving very popular with local motorists.
 
     
Verrus secures Westminster contract for citywide rollout of phone parking
January 2008 – Following a successful pilot in two of its parking zones, Westminster City Council has awarded Verrus a long term contract to provide its cashless mobile phone payment service, bringing the total number of spaces offering the service in Westminster to over 7,000. The contract has been awarded under the Central London Parking In Partnership(PiP) Framework agreement which will enable other members of the PiP consortium to take advantage of the Verrus service.
 
     
Verrus expands in southern California
December 2007 – Verrus partner Diamond Parking offers customers the option to stay cool in their cars and pay for parking by cell phone at many lots in Santa Ana, Long Beach and Riverside. Customers can add parking time by phone without returning to the lot.
 
     
Verrus launches pay by phone parking on street in Winnipeg
October 2007 – Winnipeg parkers can now pay for their on street parking with Verrus. This augments Verrus' existing extensive off street parking coverage in Winnipeg.
 
     
Verrus goes BIG in Texas
September 2007 – Dallas drivers can now enjoy paying for parking with cell phones at many of the surface lots operated by the City and Platinum Parking. These include lots in the central business district, Deep Ellum and close the American Airlines Center.

Oxford City Council launches the Verrus service in its city centre off street car parks.
January 2007 – With all day tariffs running at around £15, it is expected that the Verrus service will prove very popular in Oxford.

Over a two week period, Westminster City Council removes 440 meters from Soho and goes phone payment only in these spaces.
December 2006 – It marks an historic moment and probably the beginning of the end for the parking meter in the UK which were first installed in London in 1958.
   
     
Colchester BC introduces the Verrus service.
November 2006 – A new integrated system for enforcement has been provided through enforcement services supplier, Chipside, enabling the PAs to enforce the Verrus service without leaving the Chipside environment. It provides a seamless solution for the PAS, simplifying the process.
   
     
Westminster City Council implements the Verrus service in the Soho and Harrow Rd areas of the borough.
October 2006 – Initially the service will be an alternative to pay and display and meter payments but in what is thought to be a first for a UK authority, Westminster will implement the first truly cashless parking area when it removes all the meters from Soho and switches to pay by phone only. Where pay and display machines are installed in Soho, the current machines will be replaced by credit card accepting pay and display machines thereby giving the motorist the opportunity to pay either through the machine or via phone.

Sept 2006 - Phone payment takes off nationwide with Verrus U.K.
   
     
Lincoln City Council has just implemented the Verrus system across its 2000 off street spaces.
August 2006 – Councillor Fay Smith, portfolio holder for the environment at the council, said: "I think this payment option is fantastic. I am sure that many people arrive at a pay and display car park and discover they do not have change. To have this option will be very helpful."
   
     
The UK’s largest parking operator, NCP, has opted to implement the Verrus service at many of its managed rail station car parks.
Summer 2006 – Following a successful trial at Cardiff station car parks, the system has been introduced at all of ARRIVA’s car parks as well as with selected sites for ONE Railway, C2C, Central Trains and Network Rail.
   
     
Birmingham City Council is the first authority to introduce pay by mobile phone for on street parking in England.
July 2006 - Motorists in Birmingham can now pay by mobile phone across a total of 8000 spaces which includes all off street pay and display car parks as well as the central business zone on street locations. The scheme is operating on a one year trial basis and if successful may be extended to the other on street locations within the city.
   
     
The beautiful spa town of Cheltenham has joined the growing list of UK locations where motorists can pay for parking by mobile phone.
June 2006 - The local authority has introduced the Verrus system in all of its 2000 off street spaces as an alternative method of payment to pay and display.

Vancouver becomes the largest city in North America to offer service

In June 2006, Verrus and the City of Vancouver launched pay by phone parking at all 7,800 on-street meters giving motorists an alternative to paying at the meters with coins.

Verrus offers pay by phone parking service in Salisbury District, U.K.
Salisbury becomes latest U.K. council to adopt system

On February 1st, 2006, Salisbury District in the U.K. introduced the Verrus service across the majority of its off-street car parks in order to offer credit card payments to motorists and to make the parking experience more “pleasant”. Salisbury’s new mascot, “Parker” will promote the service and its benefits to the public.

Pay for your parking by phone while vacationing in Hawaii!

In January 2006, Verrus and Diamond Parking introduced pay by phone parking at parking areas in downtown Honolulu. For those traveling to the area and renting a car, you can now use your Verrus account while on vacation!
